Welcome 2009

The Fork & Spoon welcomes the new year with a feeling of restrained excitement in an industry that took a beating in 2008. There’s almost a feeling of, “we have no where else to go but up”. The sense of a marketplace that could not withstand new trends in restaurants took out the weak with a non-discriminating swipe in less than half a year. We could only afford to support the known, and culturally, we were unwilling to experiment with once loved fads and fashions. 

Our intrepid group are ever hopeful for a better year – a year of growth for independents, franchises and their multitude of employees. With fingers crossed, the family at The Fork & Spoon gently eases into 2009.
